week 2 - rhinestones
Quote from Scorpion Goddess on March 8, 2025, 7:54 pmOkay, so, I am happy to say I came into week 2 🔥 hot!!! Originally, I was feeling a bit anxious and concerned with my ability to keep up with the challenge and deliver a rhinestone nail set. I find myself having a sense of anxiety and impatience when it comes to working with rhinestones. Weirdly, I have noticed, I am pretty rigid in my ways these days as a nail artist.
I really enjoy hand-drawn nail art! I find myself feeling totally lost when I try to think of nail designs that accentuate different mediums and techniques, aside from hand-drawn. I had already made it through week 1, with foils, and I was dreading having to think of a nail design to incorporate rhinestones. I’m not sure why, but in my mind, I don’t view rhinestone nails as true masterpieces, when I create my nail art. I sort of feel rhinestone nail designs are very simple, I ask myself if they convey my talent as much as I would like. Ironically though, when I try to think of a design to incorporate rhinestones, I feel like all I can imagine is cuticle bling, or, a fully blinged out nail.
For this challenge, I told myself I wanted to use rhinestones as a focal point on my nail set, while also using them to accentuate my nail design, as opposed to being the central focus. I hope that makes sense! I had a pink cheetah, xxl stiletto full set already started, so I decided to go for it…. I created a simple, yet beautiful and intricate nail design to incorporate this weeks medium. I am very proud of the outcome!
